🚨 Parents: Do You Know Where and What Your Children Are Up To in Penkridge ? |
||
|
Good evening, hope your well.
I would like to bring your attention to the below please:
On Tuesday 14th April, we received a report of several youths causing damage to the boundary fence running alongside the M6 motorway, in the area of Heron Drive. The fence was damaged in order to gain access to the grassed area and create a makeshift swing at the side of the hard shoulder. This behaviour is extremely dangerous and puts the young people involved, motorists, emergency responders, and local animals at risk. Many residents use this area for dog walking, and an open fence creates a real danger of pets straying onto the motorway. The fence has since been temporarily repaired. Those identified will be dealt with, and positive action will be taken. Parents and guardians are asked to speak with their children about the dangers of accessing this area. The motorway is an extremely high‑risk environment, and even small actions like damaging a fence or playing near the hard shoulder can have devastating consequences. Please ensure your children understand the risks and the importance of staying away from this location. If anyone has any information or knows the names of those involved, please email me in confidence at phillip.millichap@staffordshire.police.uk so they can be dealt with accordingly. Officers will be patrolling this location and continue monitoring the situation.
Many thanks for your support in this matter.
